Hussam Sleiby
Hussam Sleiby is a Palestinian Jordanian dentist and oral surgeon by profession, as well as a self-taught photographer. Born in 1975, he has been passionate about photography for many years. His work has appeared in both local and international publications and was exhibited in galleries and art fairs across Jordan, Palestine, Norway, and London. His artistic journey began at a young age, evolving into a deep appreciation for photography as a powerful medium of expression. He has explored various subjects and techniques, resulting in a distinctive collection of photographs inspired by his admiration for both classic and contemporary art. While he captures landscapes, macro subjects, portraits, and abstracts, his primary focus remains on still life photography. In the realm of still life photography, he has cultivated a painterly style that echoes the works of Old Masters from the Renaissance and Baroque periods. Each object in his still life work has a voice of its own, revealing fragments of personal narratives and collective memories, preserving pieces of the human experience in a single frozen moment. The juxtaposition of elements, the interplay of light and dark, the use of textures and colors, and the intricacies of composition all contribute to a sense of visual poetry, enticing the viewer to delve deeper into each photograph and unravel the layers of meaning within.
