Sara Kabariti
Sara Kabariti is an emerging painter living and working in Amman, Jordan. Her mixed media approach is concerned with capturing light and soul in portraits and figurative art as well as botanical forms. She was heavily involved in the classical Japanese martial arts of Iaido and Jodo, holding a 6th Dan in both disciplines. She then went on to become a Homeopath. Her journey into the healing arts eventually led her to the visual arts at the age of 45. She is consequently fascinated by the natural world and loves to incorporate particularly trees in her art. Sara has studied with a number of artists including Lucy Roman, Martina Anagnostou, Kelly Rae Roberts, Nicholas Wilton, and Flora Bowley. She is currently enrolled in the New Masters Academy to further develop her drawing and portraiture painting techniques. She is also studying with the renowned local Jordanian artist Ali Amr, focusing on portraiture and figurative art. Sara loves to include Arabic calligraphy and collage in her work. She believes we are on the brink of a paradigm shift and her deep faith and interest in her Arab and Islamic culture and heritage inform her artwork. Sara endeavours to master classical painting techniques in order to eventually break away and find her own unique creative voice. Her paintings have been exhibited in a number of group exhibitions including Art for The Children of Gaza exhibition and in the Female Jordanian Artists Exhibition (NAHNU) and is currently available on her website as well as with the Jodar artistry Gallery in Amman. She is also featured in the books, Empowering Women through Painting – Jordan.
